Please read these Classifieds rules COMPLETELY.
Any violation of the following rules may result in your ad or request being removed without notice or comment. (You may wish to keep a back-up copy of your post in the event that we delete it unceremoniously for a rule violation.)
Using the Classifieds is a privilege and not a right.
In addition to the following Classifieds specific rules, the Classifieds also falls under the rules governing any post to PickleballForums.com. If you haven't read the forum rules, it would be a good idea.
Several sections follow: Rules for Sellers, Rules for Buyers, Rules for Seekers, Communicating with other members. We recommend that you read all sections for a complete understanding of how the Classifieds works.
Rules for Sellers.
1. NO RETAILERS/WHOLESALERS: Retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, representatives, or anyone who makes and sells their own pickleball related product may not sell items in Classifieds. This includes personal items of their own or others. Classifieds is for non-commercial private party transactions only. This is not a business forum. Excessive listing of items for sale will result in the poster being considered a retailer. (A business may post to request to purchase an item, but not sell.)
2. PICKLEBALL RELATED ITEMS ONLY.
3. SUBJECT: Begin your subject line with either "FS:" (for sale), "FA:" (for auction) or "FT:" (for trade). Be as specific as possible—include brand, model, etc. If a single item, include the price in the subject line. As with any post in the forums, do not use all CAPITAL letters.
Examples of subject lines:
FS: Prince Reflex Paddle - $100
WTB: 2018 Nationals T-shirt, large
4. DESCRIPTION: Please answer all typical expected questions in your description. Condition, hours of use, where the item is located, color, size, etc. Items listed 'For Auction' must include a link to the auction service (eBay, etc.) and must include the item description in your post.
5. PRICE: You must include a price for all items for sale, auction, or trade. Items listed 'For Auction' must include the opening bid or reserve price as well as a link to the auction website. (PBF is not an auction site. You may not simply ask for "best offer above X price.") Again, include your price in the subject as well as the body of the message.
6. CONTACT: You must indicate a means of contacting you in your post, be that a current email address in either your profile or in the post itself or that you can be reached by 'Private Message'. Out of courtesy, you should reply to all who contact you. (Keep in mind that publicly posted e-mail addresses are sometimes harvested by spammers, so feel free to us "at" instead of "@" or somesuch.) You may wish to subscribe to your post so that you get notified of responses.
7. IMAGES: Pertinent images may be attached to your post. Pleased make them in focus with proper lighting and cropped (where possible) to the item in question. Your image may be resized smaller due to file limitations. You may also include links to images—which can be of higher resolution—of your items for sale.
8. RELISTING: You cannot repost your ad until a full two weeks (14 or more days) have passed. You cannot have two open listings for the same item, so use the 'Report Post' feature (explained in Rule 9 below) with your original listing to tell the moderators that you are relisting so they can archive it. If the Report Post feature is not available for some reason, contact a TP moderator directly and include the link/URL to your old post. Once your old ad has been removed, you may post your new ad. (We may delete both listings if we find two open listings for the same item!)
How to find your old, but still active, posts: While in the Trading Post forum, click on "Search this Forum" on the right of the screen, then click on "Advanced Search". On the search screen, type in your user name in the "Search by User Name" box. Then click on "Search Now".
9. SOLD/FOUND: When your transaction is complete, post "SOLD!" "FOUND!" so that people know.
Rules for Buyers.
1. If a seller does not respond to inquiries, use the post's "notify" button to notify the moderators.
Rules for Seekers.
1. You may post requests for items you wish to purchase but you must provide an email address in your post or in your profile, or allow 'private messages' so you may be contacted directly.
2. You must begin your subject line with "WTB:" (wanted to buy). As always, be as descriptive and specific as possible in both your subject and your post body.
